The Institute of Functional Surfaces (iFS) was formed in December 2013 from the Institute of Engineering Thermofluids, Surfaces and Interfaces (iETSI) and represents a multidisciplinary group of researchers focusing on experimental and theoretical studies encompassing reactions at fluid and solid surfaces and interfaces.
iFS is internationally recognised for its leading reputation in the following areas:
– Tribology and Tribochemistry
– Surface Engineering
– Scale formation in oil and gas production
– Corrosion and erosion-corrosion
– Healthcare Technologies
